Our hearts go out to the family of Tripp Joye of Anything on Fire. He died on May 3rd, 2008. RIP Tripp. Weird to think just a few days before we released a online sampler with him on it..

Tragically, ANYTHING ON FIRE drummer Tripp Joye was killed last lastnight around 4am due to an automobile accident in Winston-Salem, NC. Joye was 25 years of age. RIP. - Forsaken Recordings

I just opened this up. I was going to do it on livejournal, but this was easier. There's a point to this and it is as follows: Won't Be Pathetic Forever isn't about astronauts and ninjas, it's about us (I know. How are you supposed to LOL at that? Sorry, dudes/non-dudes.). The record is about our shitty everyday lives and this blog is supposed to give you a window into the monotony of our vapid exsistence. I'm hoping I can get all of the dudes to post here and you'll get the chance to read it pretty often. I guess we'll also keep you up to date on Wonder Years shit too.

No Sleep Records and Los Angeles' Touche Amore are partnering up to release a 8 song 7" this spring/summer. Touche Amore bring back some good ol' hardcore/screamo in the vein of American Nightmare, Majority Rule, The Hope Conspiracy and Orchid. No Sleep Records is excited to announce that they will be teaming up with PA's Attic Records to release the upcoming EP from Philadelphia's I Am Alaska. The bands debut release, A Day In A Life, was produced by the talented Vince Ratti (Circa Survive, Valencia, The Wonder Years) and features guest vocals from Mike Shaw of This Day Forward. A Day In A Life features five songs of progressive/experimental music reminiscent of The Mars Volta, Circa Survive, At The Drive-In, and Glassjaw. The 5 song EP also features a video for "Get Real". US TOUR STARTS JUNE 21st TO AUGUST 1st

April 1, 2008- The Wonder Years have always been about appreciating the journey to success along with the outcome. Their new EP embodies that concept and their sound, which is very much like Set Your Goals, New Found Glory, Brand New and Motion City Soundtrack drives the point across. Their lead singer Dan ‘Soupy’ Campbell describes the album as follows, “The record begins with the words "head above water this year, boys," and I think thats really what it all boils down to. "Won't Be Pathetic Forever" is all about getting your shit together. It's about DIY touring with your best friends and coming home to an empty town and just moving on. We're really proud of these songs and of each other. I think we're just getting to where we need to be, and we'll see you all on tour this summer, June 21st to August 1st with a bunch of dope bands. "My friends and I, we're all fucked on the inside. We don't let it run our lives."

“Won’t Be Pathetic Forever” is available June 10th, 2008 as a 7” EP with four never before heard songs in vinyl and digital format only. The throwback vinyl, which will not be available in CD format features guest vocals from Rachel Minton of Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer. Renowned producer Vince Ratti (Valencia, Circa Survive, One Dead Three Wounded) recorded the album at Skylight Studio and the first pressing is limited to 500 copies. Wanting to give their fans more than just a vinyl, the first 500 will be available in purple, orange or brown covers with color coordinated silk-screened jackets.

The pre-order has started at nosleepstore.com for only $6 and you will receive a free digital download of the 7” when it arrives or the option of ordering all 3 colors of $14 dollars is available as well. A code for downloading the digital copy will be available inside the vinyl. A song from the upcoming vinyl is up on myspace.com/thewonderyearspa titled "You're not Sallinger. Get over It." The Wonder Years will also be embarking on a US tour promoting the vinyl starting June 21st to August 1.
