Biography

The Wonder Years are six dudes from the Philadelphia area and are here to bring you some all around fun filled (to the maximum level) pop-punk. Since their inception in 2006 they have already put out 4 releases including their debut Full Length Get Stoked on It! as well as a demo, a split EP and a tour EP. The Wonder Years have playedwith such bands as Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Reign Supreme, Valencia, Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, I Am The Avalanche, Crime and Stereo, The Minor Times, Rookie of the Year, Fireworks, and have been to5 different countries and over 25 states, andThere is no sign of stopping for these guys anytime soon.

Along the way the guys have made new friends, ate a lot of fast food, stole a shit-ton from rest stops, started a few fights and made fun of more dorks than they thought could possibly exist. The Wonder Years are probably the grumpiest posi band in the universe, but the bottom line, theyre all best friends and they are here to play music, hang out and have a good time.

The band recently entered the studio with Vince Ratti (Valencia) of Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer to record their latest pop-punk gem, Wont Be Pathetic Forever. Compiling 4 of the best songs the band has written to date, Wont Be Pathetic Forever takes off where Get Stoked on It! left off. Look for Wont Be Pathetic Forever on vinyl and digitally June 10th, 2008 on No Sleep Records. The band will be on tour all summer long in support of the new 7".

Fast forward to late 2008, The Wonder Years re-entered the studio with Vince Ratti and recorded two new tracks for a brand new split 7" with UK pop punkers, All Or Nothing, look for the new split 7" titled Distances to be in stores and online March 10th, 2009 from No Sleep Records!

Head above water this year, boys.

"The Upsides" (CD)

Info: "The Upsides" is a record about hope. During the past year, The Wonder Years found themselves trudging through their early twenties along side an army of downtrodden friends. It felt like sadness had become the status quo and that didn't sit well with the Philadelphia-based five piece. On a bike ride around the fountain at Logan Circle on the first day of spring, the idea struck that this constant state of defeat was no way to live and out of that, "The Upsides" was born. Instead of a writing format derived from the ideas of one member, The Wonder Years built a record out of opposing influences, colossal arguments and gallons of sweat. The band all moved into a one-bedroom house in South Philly and spent a scorching month and a half locked in a 15 square-foot basement obsessing over every single part of every single song, refusing to move from the practice space until everyone was content. The result is 12 tracks of overly honest pop punk that resonates with the band's past influences like Motion City Soundtrack, Saves the Day and The Starting Line, but also speaks to new influences like Latterman, Thursday and even The Hold Steady. Fans can expect to see the familiar soaring hooks and energetic guitar-driven songs that made The Wonder Years what they are, but will also find themselves engaged in new aspects as the band makes use of different dynamics, instrumentation and structures. In writing "The Upsides," The Wonder Years have created a soundtrack for the hopeful. Throughout the LP, the band continually sings, "I'm not sad anymore" in the hopes that everyone still feeling the weight of the past year can soon sing along.

"The Wonder Years have crafted a passionate testament to the confusion of being twentysomething with The Upsides, their sophomore full-length.
