"This might be the most mature album I've heard all year; and to think the median age of this band's members is only 19, well it's mind-boggling. Balance and Composure's Only Boundaries proves that volume does not always equate power and force. In just four songs Only Boundaries takes its listeners on a wild ride with build ups and crescendos around every corner. The deep layers, slower tempos and gentle yet prominent vocal styling of singer Jon Simmons create an intensity that is second to none. Set your expectations high and prepare to be impressed by this EP." - EVILNEEDLES.com
"The promise found on Only Boundaries is staggering, and these songs won't leave my side until I've got new ones from Balance and Composure to take their place." - MAMMOTHPRESS.com
"This is the sort of emotional yet on-the-brink-brilliant stuff bands don't really conceive so early on. While a number of punk and indie-influenced PA bands have shown growth this year, no one's taken a greater, more graceful step than Balance and Compsoure, and it's chilling to wonder where they could go from here." - PUNKNEWS.org
"A very nice record and worth your money if you like the older emo sound without all the catchy choruses depicting ways to cut out your heart. Balance and Composure exude a maturity here that bands twice their age still don't have and it's encouraging." - PUNKBANDS.com
"The most memorable 4-song feast of 2009." - ABSOLUTEPUNK.net
"Balance and Composure step up to the plate with this 18-minute, four-song E.P., and knock this screaming baby out of the park. Discordant guitar chords, chugging riffs, and explosive, heart-on-the-sleeve vocals charge these songs through moments of near-cacophony alternating with moments of deeply introspective beauty." - RIPPLE MUSIC
"For me, where Only Boundaries succeeds is when it brings together the intense emotions from two somewhat tired genres and washes them clean of the overwrought egotism and self-flagellation that people understandably and regularly mock." - DRYVETYMEONLYNE.com
"Only Boundaries pulses with a steady deliverance where each instrument works together for a full sound that ebbs and flows with emotion and intensity and finally cumulates with a passionate chant of Hallelujah, I'm coming home!; and it's a chant I'll happily play over and over again." - THEPUNKSITE.com
"As an up-and-coming band in the world of alternative and punk, they have in my opinion the best EP of the year, 'Only Boundaries.'" - CWG
"Balance and Composure's passion and songwriting ability is tempered further with the cockiness of youth, which luckily is more than vindicated by their musical ability. If ever there were a band I wanted to hear a full length album by - this is it." - DIE SHELLSUIT, DIE!
"I love when a record is really busy, but doesn't get lost in the busyness. On the four song Only Boundaries, Balance and Composure fully live up to their name, balancing intricacies with listenable sensibility and remaining composed while the music swirls." - RNRNONSENSE
"Balance And Composure are really good. They're not reinventing the musical wheel or whatever, but the Only Boundaries EP is a fast-paced, pop-influenced record that I will definitely be keeping around and spinning a lot more. You should too. Which of course would mean you'd have to get your hands on it, which you should." - FISTFIGHT AT THE ARTHOUSE
"It is quite rare now that you hear a 4 song E.P. that has the impact of a full length. Balance and Composure, a youthful five piece band from Doylestown, PA, have given us just that. All the songs are completely unique from one another, but all blend together smoothly." - THEINTERLUDE.com
"At just 4 songs here, these kids make their point quick. The driving rhythms, singing vs. throaty screaming, and compelling emotive structures will bring to mind all the classics, but at the same time they retain their own distinctive sound. Sometimes moving at a faint pulse, other times exploding into a fiery rage, these 4 songs cover a lot of ground in a short time, pushing and pulling between mellow cathartic lulls to crashing drums and loud guitars. It's not you're standard build up from quiet to ebullient- this is dynamic, powerful and ebullient." - GO211.com
"They've established themselves as one of the strongest acts on the criminally underrated No Sleep Records roster, they've clearly got the talent, and with a split album coming out later this year with Tigers Jaw, it would seem the only way is up for Balance And Composure. They just need to hurry up and release a full-length! (but don't rush it)." - ROCKFREAKS.net
